Founded in the summer of 1960 by five passionate car enthusiasts in Georgia, the Creepers Car Club emerged with a mission to promote street rod activity, foster camaraderie, and advocate for responsible governance in the automotive community.
Incorporated in the State of Georgia, the club's objectives revolve around fostering good fellowship, promoting sportsmanship, and advocating for the principles of good government in organized street rod activities.
From its humble beginnings with a roster of five dedicated rodders, the club has flourished and now boasts approximately 25 members, including second-generation car enthusiasts. Membership in the Creepers Car Club is not merely a title; it's a commitment to passion and community service. Prospective members undergo a one-year probationary period to demonstrate their dedication to their vehicles and their willingness to contribute to the club's charitable endeavors.
Throughout its storied history, the Creepers Car Club has been a trailblazer in the hot rod community. It hosted its inaugural car show in 1963 at the Lakewood Fairgrounds in Atlanta, subsequently moving to the Atlanta Merchandise Mart in 1964. Over the years, the club has organized numerous shows and events, including participating in rod runs and joining prestigious associations such as the National Street Rod Association and the Georgia Street Rod Association.
The Creepers Car Club's commitment to charitable giving is unparalleled. For over 25 years, the club has donated proceeds from its shows to local charities, including The Calvary Children's Home, Right in the Community, Scottish Rite Children's Hospital, the Children's Miracle Network, and The American Cancer Society. These charitable donations have amounted to an impressive total of $500,000+, showcasing the club's deep-rooted commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
